UK-based Pro-Teq Surfacing has recently developed a new type of resurfacing technology that illuminates at night. The new resurfacing product is called Starpath. It is a liquid-based product that is mixed with natural earth aggregate material. The surface that is sprayed will become non-slip, water resistant and will glow. It has made the Cambridge Park in the UK the world's first self-powered sustainable path. The Starpath helps lessen the risk of accidents of collisions. A thirty minute application of the product will extend the life cycle of existing paths and lanes because it gives a new protective top layer. This week the National Fire Protection Association is teaching the public that the leading cause of injuries and home fires is cooking. Here are some facts provided by the NFPA to educate for Fire Prevention Week:

• Electric ranges have a higher risk of fire rather than gas ranges
• Unattended equipment is the leading cause of cooking fires
• The best way to prevent a stop top fire is to stay in the kitchen while frying
• When a pan fire occurs, slide the lid over the pan and turn off the heat
• For early warning of a home fire, install smoke detectors in each bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of your home
